Sometimes we do things to upset those closest to us (or in my case all too often rather than sometimes.

The event aims to raise funds for the fallen law enforcement officers in the USA.

The event started in 1997 with 18 riders heading from New Jersey to Washington. Last year the figure was over 1100 riders from all over the USA. One Chapter rode all the way from California.

I'm riding with Chapter 1, from New Jersey. I understand that I am the only non American riding with Chapter 1.

Each rider has to raise a minimum of $1700 sponsorship. I will also have to fund the trip to the USA, the police unity tour cycling kit etc. None of that will come from sponsorship monies, but from my own pocket. Any monies donated will go directly to the Police Unity Fund.

I am aware that there was a similar event in England in 2008. I am not sure what happened after that, but perhaps we can create such an event annually here as well.
